Joan Reese is an artist based out of New York City, known for working with many mediums including watercolour and Chinese ink. While she enjoys working with various mediums, she has focused her current practice on painting one of a kind silk scarves and glazing original porcelain tiles. Reese paints these tiles with iridescent glazes shaded with a fusion of bright colours, using her keen eye to fuse colours and create striking and exquisite designs, The tiles are then painted with glaze and fired in a kiln. Her creative process relies heavily on spontaneity; none of her work is mass produced and every work is as unique as it is personal, each created, as she puts it, “from my own heart and two hands.”
