How best to describe the original art and photography of Joan Reese? Quite possibly it would be the same adjectives one would use for the New York City artist herself. Colorful, contemporary, and all too classically cool. So says the fans of the maker of five hundred original fine art pieces on canvas and metal, acrylic, framed, or gallery prints. Now broadening her reach to an international audience of art buyers and interior designers in the market for fine art prints or urban photographs that have the potential to stop a show, the artist announces a sale. New York, New York - Inspirational Saying For Today Nov.24, 2014 New York Based Artist, Joan Reese, has created original paintings and photographs with her favorite inspirational sayings and bible quotes. She feels we all need a few words of encouragement everyday.
When someone wrongs me, a friend or family member would say, "Don't worry," "What goes around comes around!" And I would say the same to friends who were hurt from others insensitivities. I thought it originated in the Bible, but this belief has been around since the 7th century BC. in Hinduism. The belief is known as Karma.
Many western cultures have notions similar to karma, as demonstrated in the phrase "What goes around comes around. "Christian expressions similar to karma include "Reap what one sows" (Galatians:6:7) and "Live by the sword, die by the sword" (Matthew 26:50).
Wicca teaches the rule of three, which states that whatever energy a person puts out in the world, be it positive or...

The original photograph is of a heart sculpture on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Heartwalk is made up of wooden planks salvaged from four boardwalks in New Jersey and New York after they were damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 - one of them being Atlantic City's own Boardwalk. The other wood is from Sea Girt, in Monmouth County, and Long Beach and the Rockaways, in New York.

At the north end of Absecon Island, where Clam Creek meets Absecon Inlet, lies one of Atlantic City's little known treasures: Historic Gardner's Basin. Gardner's Basin is home to some serious commercial fishing boats, where 70% of the clams served in chowder throughout the United States are fished. While watching the clam boats and the hard working men who with their nets dredge the sea; the sound of a bell clanging, inspired Joan Reese to write this poem.
The Dock
Afternoon storm,
Moored boats, bells;
Clang like wind chimes.

One of my favorite poems is "Annabel Lee"by Edgar Allan Poe.
After visting his cottage in Bronx, I intuitively painted "Annabel Lee."
Edgar Allan Poe spent the last years of his life, from 1846 to 1849, in The Bronx at Poe Cottage.
A small wooden farmhouse built about 1812, the cottage once commanded unobstructed vistas over the rolling Bronx hills to the shores of Long Island. It was a bucolic setting in which the great writer penned many of his most enduring poetical works, including Annabel Lee, The Bells and "Eureka." Poe's young wife Virginia died of tuberculoses in the house. She was the love of his life and he never recovered from the lost. I feel the poem, "Annabel Lee" expresses the love he and his wife shared.

Joan Reese, New York City Artist
Posted on October 13, 2013
Joan Reese is an artist based out of New York City, known for working with many mediums including watercolour and Chinese ink. While she enjoys working with various mediums, she has focused her current practice on painting one of a kind silk scarves and glazing original porcelain tiles. Reese paints these tiles with iridescent glazes shaded with a fusion of bright colours, using her keen eye to fuse colours and create striking and exquisite designs, The tiles are then painted with glaze and fired in a kiln. Her creative process relies heavily on spontaneity; none of her work is mass produced and every work is as unique as it is personal, each created, as she puts it, from my own heart and two hands.
